Conversational interfaces, despite being frequently hailed as revolutionary, often fail to change how we use computers due to speed and fidelity issues with natural language communication. While natural language is a common data transfer method, it acts as a bottleneck, leading users to rely on quicker, more efficient communication forms like gestures or keyboard shortcuts. Although conversational UIs can complement existing workflows, they should not replace more efficient input methods. The future lies in enhancing human-computer interaction by seamlessly integrating AI as an additional interface layer rather than relying solely on natural language.
